Interpower Induction Services At-A-Glance Induction Services has the
skill and experience to dramatically extend the service life of forge
heating and most other styles of induction heating coils. By establishing
a formal coil maintenance/rebuild program, it is not unusual to get 10,
15, or even 20 years of service from tooling. The first sign that a
forging coil needs service usually is a breakdown of the castable
materials. When this begins to occur, the coil should be taken out of
service to prevent damage to other critical component. The decision to repair or
replace a coil is based on cost. As a Rule of Thumb, it makes sense to
rebuild a forge heating coil when repair costs are less than 75% of the
original cost of the coil. The condition of coil windings is a critical
factor. If windings have to be replaced, it often is more cost effective
to replace the coil. Contact your Induction Services sales representative for assistance in establishing a coil maintenance program, fast quotes on repairing coils, or information on designing coils for a new application. |
