Real-Time
Quality Monitoring At The Coil
The Sign-LinkŪ
Coil Signature Monitor charts the heat pattern of parts as they are
processed. The profile generated is compared to the profile of a
"master" part stored in memory to provide real-time verification
of part quality. Should a problem occur while heating a part, the Sign-Link
Monitor alerts the operator so adjustments can be made before a bad part is
produced.
A Sign-Link system allows you to monitor power, amperage, voltage, quench
temperature, quench flow, and part rotations. Built-in capabilities which
enhance the flexibility of the system include a linking feature that allows
multiple profiles, such as hardening and tempering, to be evaluated during
a single cycle; signature repeat which allows evaluation of the same
signature repeatedly in continuous applications, like tube welding and
annealing; and dead banding to allow non-critical segments of a heat cycle
to be ignored. In static heating applications, the monitor can be
programmed to automatically shut down a power supply after the desired
energy has been achieved.
Sign-Link Monitors are
compatible with solid-state power supplies, radio frequency power supplies,
and motor generators. Equipment can be interfaced with an optional printer
or computer, and includes software to allow data to be downloaded to Lotus
or Excel spreadsheets.
Two versions of the Sign-LinkŪ Coil Signature Monitor are offered. The
basic unit features an 80 character alphanumeric display. The Sign-LinkŪ
Deluxe offers advanced features like touch 15" color touch screen, 40
gigabyte hard drive for storage, 1.7 Mhz Intel Processor, networking
capabilities, real-time graphics, and statistical process control
(SPC) capability.
