Sign-Link® Coil Signature Monitor New From Inter-Power Corporation

New from Inter-Power Corp. is a Sign-Link Coil Signature Monitor specifically designed for induction heat treating operations.  It records and stores the heat pattern for thousands of parts to support ISO, QC, and SPC requirements.

The Sign-Link Coil Signature Monitor tracks power, voltage, or amperage.  It also can monitor quench temperature, quench flow, and part rotation, if desired.  Monitoring is performed at the coil as a part is heated.  The heat pattern generated is compared to a “master” part in real time to provide instant verification of work piece quality. 

The Sign-Link 2.0 Coil signature Monitor was introduced in 1995.  Hundreds of these units are in service.  Version 2.0 is ideal for shops that want to monitor induction heating operations, and have a dedicated, external PC or laptop to store and transfer data.  It uses manual data input via a touchpad, and has an 80 character alphanumeric data display.

Inter-Power’s new 3.0 version of the Sign-Link Coil signature Monitor is a PC-based product with on-board program and part file storage, color graphical operator interface, and extremely fast processing speed.  It has a built-in 1.7 GHz Intel Celeron processor, 128 MB of RAM, 30 GB (7200 RPM) hard drive, 15” color touch screen, Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional installed, and networking capability.  There’s even a thumb-size flash drive for convenient storage and transfer of programs and data to any computer with a USB port, and optional 52x24x52 CD-rewritable drive.

Sign-Link Coil Signature Monitors support one power supply with single or multiple workstations.  They are easily interfaced with all styles of power supplies, and offer  features and options that allow performance to be tailored to individual needs.

Sign-Link 2.0 is still a great  monitor for 100% verification of induction heat treated parts.  The Sign-Link 3.0 includes a built-in PC which is excellent for data collection and SPC.
